The Turtle Wing Foundation invites the public to kick off Autism Acceptance Month with Turtle Wing Day on April 5.

The organization encourages the public to wear their Turtle Wing Gear (or green) to school and work to show their support and inclusion of friends and family members diagnosed with Autism. According to a release, the month of April and early May will be packed with fun events by Turtle Wing.

April 5 is not only Turtle Wing Day, but it also kicks off the #MakeOurMatch campaign. The organization said all donations to Turtle Wing from April 5– May 6 will be matched, dollar for dollar up to $5,000 by Chuck Brown Ford. On May 6, Turtle Wing will celebrate Jack Hooper Day at the Park in Schulenburg, both sponsored by Chuck Brown Ford. The Turtle Wing Autism Acceptance Games will be occurring from March 21–April 21 at various high school baseball and softball games within Turtle Wing’s service area. According to a release, Turtle Wing Foundation has been providing Early Intervention, Supplemental Services and Community Education and Advocacy programming to children and families with academic, social-emotional, behavioral and/or developmental needs since 2012. A spokesperson for the organization said annually, over 300 children are receiving direct services with thousands more benefiting indirectly through education and advocacy work.
