The public is invited to join history enthusiasts at Nesbitt Memorial Library, 529 Washington St., to learn about a new book highlighting German immigration to the Columbus area.
Attendees can visit the library Tuesday, April 4 at 6 p.m. in the activity room.
The library said “German Spirit for Texas Freedom” will be presented by the author, Betsy Wagner. The book tells the story of two German families and the reasons they decided to take on the near-impossible goal of relocating from northern Germany to this area of Texas, according to a release. This is the third Texas Historical Novel by the author.
The library said the new book will align with the year-long festivities of celebrating Columbus’ 200th birthday.
