SAS 4th graders have been busy lately. Last Thursday, March 27, they held their class mass and lunch for their families and friends. On Thursday, April 3, they are heading out to Washington- on-the-Brazos to get up close and personal with Texas’ history.

Students will visit The Star of the Republic Museum, Independence Hall and the Barrington Plantation to get a look at what life was like among the folks that established the Republic of Texas.

Next Tuesday, April 8, SAS 8th graders will visit the Holocaust Museum in Houston. This annual field trip is a sobering and educational experience for all who attend. The students will hear testimonies of Holocaust survivors who later settled in the Houston area with stories from those who liberated survivors as well.

Many exhibits and artifacts, including a World War II era railcar, give visitors a solemn sense of what innocent civilians were forced to endure.
