Limb chipping is available for “do-it-yourself” homeowner trimming projects. It is not available for professional tree trimming projects.
During spring, local citizens will be working together to clean up Columbus from March through May by picking up litter, cleaning roadsides and parks, planting trees and flowers, painting fences, mowing vacant lots, helping neighbors with cleanup jobs, beautifying their homes and lawns, and removing debris.
Individuals and groups will work around Columbus on Saturday, April 5, Trash Off Day. Volunteers that cannot participate on Saturday can volunteer on any day from March – May to have their efforts counted among the event volunteers.
Columbus Trash Off Day is part of the statewide Keep Texas Beautiful “Don’t Mess with Texas” clean-up campaign and the Great American Clean Up.
Organized by Columbus Garden Club since 2007, the club has worked with the City of Columbus to bring the “Keep Columbus Beautiful Trash Off Day” to the community.
Volunteer opportunities are also available yearround through the “Adopt a Highway” and “Adopt a Spot” programs. Various groups in our community routinely provide volunteer work throughout the year to clean our highways/ roadways.
Their clean-up efforts benefit the entire community. Consider giving your time to adopt an area.
Volunteers may register or call for information by calling or texting Keep Columbus Beautiful/Columbus Garden Club at 979-733- 4343.
