Weimar Library to host Open Mic Poetry Night April 10 Once again Friends of the Weimar Public Library will host an Open Mic Poetry Night at the Gazebo outside the library on Thursday, April 10.

Beginning at 6:30 p.m., the annual event will provide a forum for writers from beginners to recognized poets to share their poems.

This will be the fourth year for this event which has drawn participants and audience members from Weimar and surrounding communities.

Besides poets who read and share their own poems or the poetry of their favorite authors, many come out to enjoy a beautiful evening, visit with neighbors, and enjoy refreshments while they listen to writers old and young.

This event has grown each year, and the Friends of the Weimar Public Library hopes you will come out and see what the event has to offer.

In case of inclement weather, the event will take place inside the library.

Rice Consolidated High School annual reunion set for May 3 Rice Consolidated High School will be hosting their annual reunion for all students who have attended the school, or any Rice Consolidated grade schools in the past on Saturday, May 3.

The reunion will be held from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. at The Rez event venue located on 312 E. Main St in Eagle Lake.

The event fee is $20 per person. Attendees will be able to pay at the door.

The dress code is casual. No formal program planned.

Snacks and dessert provided by event organizers, attendees are welcome to come and go as they please. Beer, wine, and set ups will be available at the cash bar.

There will be a bring your own booze policy. Food will be available to purchase from the Monster Bites food truck on site. Bring memories and photos to share with former classmates.
