The Weimar Ladycats jumped right back into the win column Tuesday night after they defeated the Shiner Lady Comanches.

This comes after the Ladycats dropped backto- back games to East Bernard and Ganado.

Against their district rivals the Lafdycats knew that if they were going to bounce back after those two losses they needed to come out strong agaisnt Shiner. While the Ladycats fell behind early in the game they never backed down and finished the game with a huge district win.

The game started with a scoreless first inning with both defenses giving up only one single in the first. In the bottom of the second inning Shiner opened the score for the game by scoring the only run in the second inning.

The Ladycats responded with two runs of their own and Shiner responded right back with two runs as well to make it a 3-2 ball game going into the fourth inning. Siner extended their lead in the fourth by one run and put all the pressure on the Ladycats going into the fifth.

The Ladycats scored three runs in the fifth inning to take the lead for the first time in the game, 5-4. Shiner then tied the game in the fifth inning before the Ladycats scored three more runs in the seventh to put the game out of reach.

Defensively the Ladycats were led by Taylor Smith who was back in the circle for the Ladycats. She pitched all seven innings and gave up five runs on seven hits, walked five batters and struck out four of them.

As for the offense Tate Griffin had a phenomenal game as she hit two doubles and a triple for the Ladycats. Zariah Sims and Taylor Smith both also hit doubles, and Smith also added a homerun to her name to cap off the victory. The Ladycats now look ahead to their next two scheduled games against Flatonia and Bloomington.
