2nd Weimar Rock the Block a huge success

The Weimar Chamber of Commerce held their 2nd Weimar Rock the Block in downtown Weimar last Friday, March 21, rocking the Weimar block through the night with a fun filled evening.

The second iteration of the event was “nothing short of amazing” according to Weimar Chamber of Commerce Director Tiffany Hougardy, who says the event was back and better than ever after taking in feedback from the public the first time around.

“What a night,” said Hougardy. “Our second Rock the Block was nothing short of amazing. After our first event, we heard feedback. Vendors were selling out, lines were long, so we made some big improvements. This time, we brought in more food trucks, drink vendors and a record number of vendors, ensuring there was plenty for everyone to enjoy.”

The event, in comparison to the first edition, lasted until 11 p.m., giving Weimar residents and anyone in attendance lots to do the entire evening. The decision to extend the length of the event paid off, with the crowd sticking around all night. Hougardy says the event truly had “something for everyone.”

“Tainted Hearts kept the energy high with incredible live music, Lou’s Seafood served up a delicious crawfish boil and drinks were flowing thanks to Hound Song, Mac Daqs and Stir Soda,” said Hougardy. “With our biggest vendor lineup yet and local businesses staying open late, there was truly something for everyone.”

Hougardy says the biggest question with the Rock the Block event is, when is the next one coming? With overwhelmingly positive feedback, Hougardy says the chamber are working on making the event a semi-annual event, with plans for the next edition to take place in September.

“Don’t worry, we’re working on making Rock the Block a semi-annual event, with plans for the next one around September,” said Hougardy. “Stay tuned for details and thank you to everyone who made this night unforgettable.”

Downtown Weimar was packed as attendees enjoyed all the event had to offer.
