On Saturday, Feb. 22, SAS students competed against 10 other schools in the District 8A PSIA meet held at Immanuel Lutheran School in Giddings. 34 students brought back 46 ribbons with 14 students advancing to the State PSIA competition on Saturday, April 12.
Those Saints advancing to the state level are John Fitzgerald (Poetry Interpretation), Colson Glueck (Mathematics, Poetry Interpretation), Greyson Glueck (Poetry Interpretation), Kaden Glueck (Number Sense), Kyle Glueck (Mathematics, Number Sense), Louise Glueck (Ready Writing), Natalie Glueck (Poetry Interpretation), Hayes Kridel (Number Sense), Isabella Lowe (Ready Writing), Kimber Nelson (Listening Skills), Joshua Newman (Mathematics), Parker Pilat (Impromptu Speaking), Kendal Winkenwerder (Ready Writing), and Abigail Wolters (Modern Oratory, Poetry Interpretation).
On Sunday, March 23, SAS will hold a drive through Crawfish or Shrimp boil provided by Southern Sip and Crawdaddy’s. Tickets are $35 for 3lbs of Crawfish with potato and corn or 1 lb. of shrimp with pasta, potato, corn and sausage. Tickets are available from SAS families or the school office.
Last Thursday, the 5th grade class took a field trip to the George H.W. Bush Library in College Station. Students viewed symbols of the presidency, history of World War II, and a replica of the Oval Office, among many other exhibits related to the former President.
February’s SAS Athletes of the Month were recently recognized. Kyle Glueck, Taitlyn Beauchamp and Colson Glueck received gift cards for their hard work. The Saints track team recently participated in the Sacred Heart meet on Monday, Feb. 23 and St. Michael on Saturday, March 1 earning 30 ribbons at each meet. The next track event will take place on Monday, March 17 at St. Philip in El Campo.
Next Tuesday, March 18, Sgt. Amy Gonzales from the Texas Attorney General’s office will lead a presentation on Social Media Safety for 6th, 7th and 8th grade Saints and their parents at 2:15 p.m.
SAS Cheer Tryouts will be held on Thursday, March 20 from 3:45 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. with pre-tryout practices being held on March 18 and March 19 from 3:30 p.m. to 4:45 p.m.
2025-26 registration info: Parishioners of St. Anthony, St. Roch, or St. Peter and St. Paul parishes may register beginning next Monday, March 17. Open registration begins on Monday, March 31.
