Columbus Trash-Off Day April 1

The Columbus Garden Club along with city officials invites the community to help clean up the city from March 1 to May 31 by picking up litter, planting trees and flowers, painting fences, mowing vacant lots, cleaning streets and parks, and more.

The Columbus Garden Club along with city officials invites the community to help clean up the city from March 1 to May 31 by picking up litter, planting trees and flowers, painting fences, mowing vacant lots, cleaning streets and parks, and more.

Residents can bring large items for disposal to the City Maintenance Yard on Montezuma Street March 29 – April 1. The available hours for dropoff are between 8 a.m. and noon and 1-5 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, and between 8 a.m. and noon Saturday. No hazardous items or tires will be accepted.

Residents may also schedule free limb chipping April 3-7 by calling City Hall at 979-7322366.

The Garden Club said volunteer registration and supply distribution will be held at the Columbus Visitors Center on April 1. Volunteers can also register from March 1 – May 31 via phone or text.

Columbus Trash-Off Day is part of the state-wide “Don’t Mess with Texas Trash-Off” and “Keep America Beautiful” clean-up campaigns. The Garden Club has been partnering with the city since 2007 to encourage the community to “keep Columbus beautiful.”
