The Weimar Ladycats season has come to an end after they were defeated by Goldthwate 38-33.
It was a tough reality to face, being eliminated in the Regional Semi-Finals by only five points.
The game started with the same score as the Wildcats game, 10-6 at the end of the first but it was in Goldthwate’s favor. The Ladycats were trailing on the scoreboard but overall, it was a good start for them.
They moved the ball well and got a lot of good looks, just needed to rebound better. Unfortunately, things did not get any easier in the second quarter but still found a way to outscore Goldthwate 10-8 in the second.
Even though the Ladycats outscored Goldthwate in the second quarter they still trailed going into halftime. The score sat at 18-16 in favor of Goldthwate at halftime and the Ladycats knew they needed to have a good start in the third quarter.
In the third quarter the Ladycats did not respond and scored only two points in the third quarter while Goldthwate scored 14 points. That brought the score to 32-18 going into the fourth quarter and the Ladycats came with their claws out.
In the fourth quarter the Ladycats once again outscored Goldthwate in a comeback attempt. The Ladycats scored 15 points to Goldthwate’s five points to give a final score of 38-33.
The Ladycats season is over but the good news for Ladycats fans is that this is a young team. They are a young team with plenty of talent and now they have a chip on their shoulder to be even better next year.
