Found blue, not breathing, at home day care facility
A Weimar infant was found unresponsive at an undisclosed home day care facility, dying in saddening fashion last Monday, Feb. 11.
Four-month-old Penny Lynn Janecka “unexpectedly and suddenly passed away” at 5:06 p.m. that night after home day care facility staff noticed she was “blue and not breathing.”
Krystl Janecka and Chase Janecka, the mother and father of Penny Lynn, received the tragic phone call from home day care facility staff notifying them of their child’s condition, a call that “no parent wants to hear.”
According to a GoFundMe post created by in-laws Aaron Austin and Denise Austin, despite the best efforts of EMS and hospital staff, “Penny was called back home to Jesus.”
Within Penny Lynn’s heartbreaking obituary provided by Henneke Funeral Home, family members remember her for being “tough; a true fighter."
“Tears drench every one of our couches. They’ve created a sea that we all now tread uselessly in,” says the obituary. “However, those ways that she gave to us will also carry us through and away from this crushing pain. We can rest in our Christ’s promise. We will remember her with laughter one day, and this is what she was known for – a smile that shifted hearts. A smile that softened a quiet grandfather’s heart. A smile that warmed the coldest soul. A smile that mimicked her own beautiful mother’s smile. A smile that will return to our faces someday because of who she was and is in perfection.”
Penny Lynn would have turned five months old on the day of her funeral, Tuesday, Feb. 18. She leaves behind her parents, four siblings including a twin brother, grandparents, greatgrandparents, aunts, uncles and numerous cousins.
