History author to present at Weimar library

WEIMAR — Friends of the Weimar Public Library will present Charles Hebert, Texas history author, at Weimar United Church 403 W. Main at 10 a.m. on March 29.

The presentation will feature Hebert’s newest book, “Butternut and Gray.”

The book will give the audience a look at Texas’ engagement in the Civil War through a local lens. Hebert is known to engage his audience through personal accounts of the people in his book, according to a release. The accounts he relates are gathered from journals, diaries and letters of actual participants and are always captivating and often very surprising.

Hebert brings his stories to life by replicating the time through costume, memorabilia, and interesting displays, according to a release.
