The Weimar Wildcats are in a great spot to lock up a playoff spot while the Ladycats are preparing for their first-round playoff match up.

Both teams have eight district wins this year but with a couple of games left the Wildcats will be looking to get to an even 10 wins.

Ladycats

The Ladycats secured a playoff birth against Schulenburg and since that time the went 2-2 over their next four games. The Ladycats dropped back-to-back games to Shiner and Flatonia then came back strong against Louise.

Against Louise in their final game of the regular season the Ladycats posted a huge 40-point win. This win was big for a couple of reasons, the first being it helps them jump up in the standings.

The second being, after dropping back-toback district games it can weigh heavily n a teams confidence. So, to come out against Lousie and win by 40-points it gives them a good confidence before heading into the playoffs.

The Ladycats are scheduled to take on Granger on Monday, Feb. 20, in Giddings High School with the Bi-District championship on the line in the first round.

Wildcats

Over their last seven games the Wildcats have a 6-1 record with their one loss being against Flatonia. Like the Ladycats though they bounced back with a huge win over Louise and now set their sights on Ganado for their final game of the year.

The Wildcats did lose to Flatonia but before that loss, they had won six games in a row, which boosted them up the district standings. It boosted the Wildcats in the standings so much that they currently are ranked second in the district standings.

So, the Wildcats have secured a playoff spot, but they will have to play Ganado to see which seed they will be entering the playoffs.

If Flatonia loses their last game of the year and the Wildcats win their last game, then these teams would meet for round three to battle it out for the District Championship.
