Lady Raiders Swamp Strength results

The Rice Lady Raiders hosted the Swamp Strength meet at Rice Consolidated High school.

Swamp Strength is one of the best powerlifting meets throughout the season and the Aldy Raiders made sure to leave their mark on it.

The Lady Raiders flexed their muscles, literally, and came in second place as a team with a total of 44 points out of 11 teams. Leading the way for the Lady Raiders were Taylor Eichelberger and Breelyn Freeman who came in first place in their respective weight classes.

Eichelberger lifted a total of 725 pounds while Freeman lifted a total of 775 pounds to take home a gold medal for the Lady Raiders. With these two taking home first place they automatically qualified for the regional meet later this season.

To come in second place as a team it was not those two acting alone. Their teammates also put together a strong showing at the Swamp Strength meet.

Blanca Molina, Taylor Kachmar, Faith Thompson and Citlalli Vasquez all came in second place in their respective weight class to give them a boost in the standings. Molina lifted a total of 535-pounds, Kachmar lifted a total 430-pounds, Thompson lifted a total of 660 pounds and Vasquez lifted a total of 685-pounds.

Avery Brown and Aundrea Cardenas took home third place for the Lady Raiders and moved a total of over 1,000 pounds combined. Brown lifted a total of 600 pounds, Cardenas lifted a total of 480 pounds.

Camila Castillo and Kasey Eggemeyer were awarded fourth place for their effort at the Swamp Strength meet with Castillo lifting 400 pounds and Eggemeyer lifting 575 pounds. Then rounding out the Lady Raiders was Alejandra Valles who came in fifth place and lifted 625 pounds in her weight class.

The Lady Raiders will look to improve these numbers and will have plenty of time to do so as the season rolls along.
