HALLETTSVILLE — The Columbus tennis team took another strong step toward having a high-quality season with another solid outing from the team in the Schulenburg High-hosted tournament using Hallettsville’s facilities. Both the boys and the girls finished with top placements as the Cardinals secured one of each of the top three placements.
On the boys’ side, Camdon Pitchford had the performance of the day after a stretch of impactful play. He found his rhythm early and held on to claim the gold medal on the boys’ bracket. His teammates on the girls’ side, Madyson Carter and Sage Thomas, had similar levels of success against their competition. Carter finished with the silver medal while Thomas finished just behind her in third place to round out a good outing for the team.
