Girl’s basketball:

Last Saturday, Jan. 18, the Lady Swords basketball team participated in the St. Joseph School tournament in Yoakum. The team played well and placed second overall. Each team member was awarded a medal and Chloe Brandt received a trophy for being the team’s highest scorer with 27 points in the tournament.

Boys B-ball: This past Monday, Jan. 20, all three SMCS basketball teams swept the St. Anthony School teams. The B-boys won 21-16, the A-girls won 18-6, and the A-boys won 23-11. Way to go, Swords.

Mayor:

St. Michael Cathol ic School joins all the Catholic Schools throughout the United States to celebrate Catholic Schools Week. The theme for this year’s Catholic Schools Week is “Catholic Schools: United in Faith and Community.”

This theme highlights the powerful unity Catholic schools share in our faith and our commitment to fostering a strong sense of community. Several activities are planned throughout the week.

Mayor Milton Koller recently signed a proclamation proclaiming Jan. 25 through Feb. 1 as Catholic Schools Week.
