COLUMBUS — Award-winning author Rodney Walther will be speaking at Nesbitt Memorial Library, 529 Washington St., on Jan. 20 at 10 a.m.

He will be sharing a talk called, “My Writing Journey: Rejected but not Dejected.” Walther will speak about his journey from a novice writer to an Amazon bestselling author.

Attendees will learn about writing/publishing their best work, get inspired for their own writing, and participate in a discussion with fellow writers. This talk is aimed at writers of all experience levels, whether published or not, and even for readers who are interested in the writing world.

Walther is known for his domestic dramas, which explore the themes of loss, regret, and second chances. His first novel, the father-son drama, “Broken Laces,” stayed in the Kindle Top-1000 bestseller list for more than nine straight months and garnered strong reader reviews. “Space in the Heart” features an overprotective father, his wheelchair- bound daughter, and a vibrant newscaster— each yearning for purpose while fearing change. Walther is currently working on two other novels, “What Remains Behind” and “Glory of the Leopard.”

Walther is a native of Sugar Land and also has a ranch in Columbus. His books are set in both Central Texas and the Houston area.
