Turtle Wing Foundation’s annual ‘Toast’ to be held Jan. 23
The Turtle Wing Foundation’s annual Toast event is slated for Thursday Jan. 23 at the Sengelmann Hall (upstairs) in Schulenburg. Doors open at 6 p.m., starting off with cocktail hour with hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar.
The program officially begins at 7 p.m. The Turtle Wing Toast is a free event where all are welcome. The event’s continued theme is to “Remember, Rejoice, Renew” to remember how we started, rejoiced in our accomplishments and renewed our mission for the new year.
This year’s program is “Faith, Hope, Turtle Wing” and will feature a testimonial by Kadee Hoffman, Speech Therapist, Turtle Wing Board Member and parent, as well as a performance by the famous Dancing Turtles.
The Toast provides a way for Turtle Wing staff, board, donors, volunteers, providers, supporters and even those who may be unfamiliar but want to learn more about the foundation to come together in celebration.
The event will conclude at 8 p.m. Come join, no rsvp or tickets necessary.
Live Oak Art Center forensic art class to start Jan. 28
Columbus’ Live Oak Art Center will be bringing back their forensic art class for the spring season, with the first class starting on Tuesday, Jan. 28.
The course, which is free for 6th through 12th grade students, will run from Jan. 28 to May 15, every Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the LOAC located on 1014 Milam St. in the Laura Ann Rau Gallery located upstairs.
The instructor for the class will be local artist Dan Poré, who created the program to provide a distinct chance for artists to contribute to law enforcement efforts by aiding in real-time identification of suspects.
