Lady Raiders go 0-3 at Weimar tournament

The Rice Lady Raiders are still searching for their second win of the year after they went winless at the Weimar tournament.

They matched up with the likes of Bellville, Seguin and Lexington, each resulting in a loss for the Lady Raiders.

Vs. Bellville, L, 38-13 This was the first game of the entire tournament and things started rough for the Lady Raiders. They came in against a team that was also struggling and put up a good fight against them.

This is another positive sign that things are still trending positively for the Lady Raiders. Was it the outcome they wanted, no, obviously a win was the goal when they started this game.

But to understand that Bellville is struggling too and coming into the game with a little bit of pep in their step is a great sight for fans of the team despite the loss.

Vs. Seguin, L, 79-19 This loss seems bad because of the score, which is fair, it’s hard to explain a 60-point loss. In all fairness though, Seguin was one of, if not, the best team in the tournament.

The Lady Raiders are in the midst of a rebuild so it’s not expected to lose by this much, but it happens. Nothing to really panic about really because while they lost by 60 the offense still put up 19 points on one of the best teams in the tournament.

It’s a big confidence boost for the offense, carrying that confidence into their game against Lexington.

Vs. Lexington, L, 47-21 It was another loss for the Lady Raiders, but they combined the best of their first two games. Their first game saw their defense make some key stops, they just struggled to get the offense going.

The second game saw the offense play a little better, but the defense struggled. In game three both the offense and defense played their best cohesive game so far this season.

Another positive sign for a team that is struggling to boost their confidence before heading into 2025.
