Thank you, Coach ‘L’

Scott Leopold, or as most students know him by, “Coach L,” started teaching and coaching in Columbus in 1998 at Columbus Junior High School.

During his many years there, he taught career investigations, math and P.E. He coached junior high volleyball, basketball and football and was also the varsity head softball coach for years.

He then received his principal certification and became the principal of Columbus Elementary School. He was then recruited by Dr. Bob O’Connor to become the Chief Financial Officer of CISD. He has enjoyed his time at CISD.

He has made a lasting impression on everyone he has worked with and the countless number of students he has taught over the years. He has always taught his students that if you work hard, you can achieve anything. Scott Leopold will be dearly missed at CISD, but our community wishes him the best in retirement.

Thank you “Coach L” for always challenging us to be our best. Have a great retirement with many years of happiness to come.
