The Huddle
Hello, everyone and welcome back to the Huddle where this week we will be discussing a topic that’s a little bit different.
Well not all that different because it is still sports-related and applies to Colorado County, specifically Columbus Cardinals quarterback Adam Schobel.
When I first arrived in Columbus last year, I was immediately told about Adam Schobel and just how good he is on the football field. So like any journalist I looked him up and when I saw his face my first thought was a question, “Wait a minute that guy looks familiar, where do I know him from?”
Initially I thought I must have seen him from my time working in Taylor, TX and covering sports out there. Like maybe the Cards played one of the teams I was covering over there and I recognize his face from that.

So, I started digging, going through all my old stories from my time there trying to find the answer to my question. Unfortunately, I came up empty, so I went back to the drawing board and thought, maybe because his dad was in the NFL and they just have recognizable faces.
Well Matt Schobel was in the NFL from 2002-2008, in 2002 I was 4 years old and in 08 I was 10 years old. A bit of a stretch to say I could remember their faces because at that age I was more concerned with my Lego fort that I was building.
I had to go back to the drawing board once again and I was at the point where I was ready to give up. My question had defeated me, and I was never going to figure out the answer.
It was a frustrating feeling because I felt like I was so close to finally cracking the code. It felt within reach, and I could feel the answer about to reveal itself to me.
So, I took time to sit and think and really rack my brain about it, I put on a movie, Wonka, the 2023 version to exact. It is a musical, for those who have not seen the film yet and around the third song I leapt out of my chair and exclaimed, “I FIGURED IT OUT!”
The relief my brain felt is indescribable because I finally figured out why Adam Schobel looks so familiar.
Ladies and gentlemen, the starting quarterback for the Columbus Cardinals looks almost identical to Timothée Chalamet. After almost a year of racking my brain trying to figure it out, I felt the need to share it with all of you.
