COLUMBUS — The Columbus Historical Preservation Trust, Inc. (CHPT) is hosting its next orientation for the Magnolia Belles on Jan. 14 at the Stafford Opera House. The session starts at 9:30 a.m.

Those interested in attending must be in high school, live within the Columbus ISD boundaries and are enrolled in a recognized educational program.

The CHPT is encouraging those interested to not wait, but to attend now if they can.

“All young ladies who want to be presented in their senior year as a Magnolia Belle must first attend an orientation session,” said Melissa Parks, Magnolia Belles Coordinator. “Then they will have opportunities to volunteer for the CHPT organization during high school.”

Participants will learn about the program, scholarship opportunities, and more. Parents are welcome to attend. Call or text Melissa Parks at 713-444-9059 if you have questions about this event. RSVP is not required.

The Magnolia Belles has been a tradition for over 50 years. The CHPT said it is looking forward to continuing this beloved Columbus custom.
