I came to Texas ChalleNGe Academy for a second chance at life. After making some bad decisions in my life, I realized that if I wanted to be a successful adult, I would need to make some changes in my life as a teen. Somehow God led my mother to learn about TCA, and I applied and was thankfully accepted.
I know there are parts of the program that are challenging, but I actually don’t mind waking up at 4:30 am and doing PT. I enjoy the structure of the program and am finally finding out the person that I want to be.
I have learned to be respectful to others, how to be a responsible adult, and how to make good decisions using life-coping skills. I have learned that I can set and achieve goals for myself.
With God’s help, I will join and get accepted into the Air Force shortly after I graduate from TCA. I am ready for that commitment and to start that chapter of my life.
If my parents are reading this article, I hope that they know how truly sorry I am for my past behavior and that I am thankful that they stood by me at my worst. I am hoping that when I see them at Family Day, they will see the changes that I have made.
I also know that I have several more weeks to complete in order to graduate, but I also know that means I have several more things that I can work on, improve, and accomplish. I am so blessed to have been given this opportunity to get on the right track, and I know that with God’s help, all things are possible.
