The Columbus Cardinals captured their first State Championship in School history Thursday night at AT&T Stadium.
The Cards defeated the defending State Champs, Malakoff Tigers, by a score of 48-14.
The Cards were led by a strong defensive effort that overwhelmed Malakoff and forced them to punt the ball away a couple of times. This gave Adam Schobel and the high-powered Cardinal offense more opportunities to put the ball in the endzone and they did exactly that.
