The Weimar Wildcats defeated both Yorktown and Falls City this week to get themselves back in the win column in a big way.
The Wildcats scored 55 or more points in both games, which just reinforces head coach Jacob Rehak’s message to fans that the Wildcats are going to be making some noise this year.
Vs. Yorktown, W, 57-29 The first of the Wildcats two wins was a 28-point victory over Yorktown. This was a huge confidence boost for the Wildcats because they started out the season a little bit rough.
Losses were starting to pile up a little bit but to say the Wildcats played poorly would be completely false. The Wildcats were playing their systems well, they just had some bad rim luck.
They stayed focused though and knew things would turn around soon, and against Yorktown it did. Defensively the Wildcats smothered Yorktown, and their offense unloaded on the Yorktown defense.

The Wildcats again had multiple open shots from three point land go through the basket and they just continued to roll and stack up points.
With a 28-point win the Wildcats looked ahead to their game against Falls City where it was a much closer score.
Vs. Falls City, W, 69-59 In their second game the Wildcats defense had a bit of a tougher challenge with Falls City.
Their ball movement was better than Yorktown’s and that led to a few more open looks. They were also really good at drawing fouls against the Wildcats, so it really tested the Wildcats defensive fortitude.
While it was a challenge the Wildcats did not back down and kept working trying to solve the puzzle of the Falls City offense. While they put a lot of mental effort into the defensive end of the floor the offense continued to make shots.
The offense dropped 69 points and thankfully the defense cracked the code of the Falls City offense to hold them to just 59 points to hold onto the win.
The Wildcats will be back on the court against Moulton on Tuesday, Dec. 17, in Moulton with a 7:30 p.m. tipoff.
