Students and staff enjoyed a lunch of tamales and churros for Los Posadas. Pictured here are Korie Fogelman, Palmer Janecka, Wyatt Janecka and Henry Janecka. Thank you to the KC’s for donating towards this meal so all the students and staff can eat free of charge.

Right: SMCS celebrated Las Posadas — a traditional Christmas celebration that commemorates Mary and Joseph’s journey to Bethlehem in search of shelter, where they reenact the pilgrimage by going door-to-door singing carols and asking for lodging. The celebration then ended with lunch and star-shaped pinatas. Mary is portrayed by Hannah Conners and Joseph is Grant Janecka.
