At approximately 2:00 p.m., deputy Smith was dispatched to the 2200 block of Walnut Street in Columbus in reference to a theft. After further investigation, information was received and a report was taken. Case inactive.
SATURDAY, AUG. 17
At approximately 1:09 p.m., deputy Zwahr was dispatched to the 2200 block of FM 3013 near Eagle Lake in reference to a grass fire. He arrived on the scene and the Eagle Lake Volunteer Fire Department had the fire extinguished. Information was received and a report was taken. Information only.
At approximately 7:49 p.m., deputy Byars was dispatched to the 1200 block of County Road 200, Weimar, in reference to loose livestock. Upon making contact with the complainant, enough information was obtained to generate a report. Case information only.
At approximately 9:49 p.m., deputy Byars was dispatched to the area of FM 1291 and Cummins Stein Road, Fayetteville, in reference to property damage. After further investigation, information was received and a report was taken. Case inactive.
MONDAY, AUG. 19
At approximately 9:53 a.m., deputy Mican received a phone call from a complainant who resides in the 1000 block of Loose Cow Road, Altair, in reference to someone using his credit card to make unapproved online purchases. After further investigation, the complainant was reimbursed by the suspect. Case cleared.
At approximately 10:27 a.m., deputy Thomas was dispatched to the 1600 block of County Road 255 South, Sheridan, in reference to property damage. After further investigation, information was received and a report was taken. Case is inactive.
THURSDAY, AUG. 22
At approximately 12:59 p.m., deputy Smyers was dispatched to the area of FM 155 at CR 231, Weimar, in reference to theft. After further investigation, information was received and the equipment was entered into TCIC/NCIC as stolen. Case is active.
At approximately 5:16 a.m., deputy Byars conducted a traffic stop in the area of IH-10 near Bernardo for a traffic violation. After further investigation, Carlos Pinzon Mendez, age 42, of Houston, Tx, was arrested on an out of county Misdemeanor warrant. Case cleared by adult arrest.
SUNDAY, AUG. 25
At approximately 9:34 a.m., deputy Smith was dispatched to a property at the intersection of Crooked Creek Drive and Breeze Hollow Lane, Sheridan, in reference to a theft. After further investigation, information was received and a report was taken. Case is inactive.
At approximately 6:55 p.m., deputy Johnson was dispatched to 1100 block of CR 235, Sheridan, in reference to a structure fire. After further investigation, the fire was extinguished and determined to not be suspicious. Case cleared.
WEDNESDAY, AUG. 28
At approximately 10:20 a.m., deputy Thomas arrived at a residence located in the 1000 block of Hwy 71 W, Columbus, to issue a criminal trespass warning to a resident. It was later discovered that the resident had an outstanding warrant out of Fayette County. After further investigation, James Zatopek, age 57, of Columbus, Tx, was arrested for an out of county felony warrant. Case cleared by adult arrest.
At approximately 10:47 p.m., deputy Johnson was dispatched to the 708 mile marker of IH-10 in Bernardo, in reference to a vehicle crash. After further investigation, Michael Saunders, age 47, of Houston, Tx, was arrested for Public Intoxication- Class “C” Misdemeanor. Case cleared by adult arrest.
THURSDAY, AUG. 29
At approximately 12:38 p.m., deputy Cantu was dispatched to the lobby of the Sheriff’s Office in reference to an assault that occurred at the 1000 block of County Road 248, Weimar, Tx. After further investigation, a warrant was issued, and Jerret Lee, age 48, of Weimar, Tx, was arrested for two counts of Assault Causing Bodily Injury Family Member - Class “A” Misdemeanor. Case cleared by adult arrest.

At approximately 10:24 a.m., deputy Zwahr was dispatched to the 6400 block of Hwy 71S, Garwood, in reference to a theft. After further investigation, information was received and a report was taken. Case is inactive.
SATURDAY, AUG. 31
At approximately 2:30 a.m., deputy Smyers was dispatched to FM 950 near FM 102, Eagle Lake, in reference to a possible crash. After further investigation, he located an abandoned vehicle in the ditch with damage, which was towed from the scene. Case closed with report.
