St. John’s, one of the oldest Episcopal churches in Texas, has been on a mission to share its space and spirit with Columbus. This summer, they installed a prayer garden where neighbors can enjoy peace in the lot beside their church. The holiday meal and concert are their latest offering.
Pastor Steven Tomlinson, who joined the congregation last year, says, “St. John’s folks love the story about the loaves and fishes. If you’re willing to share, whatever you have is enough for a miracle.”
So, on the last school night of the year, St. John’s is spreading a table and lighting candles and getting ready to welcome whoever might want a meal, good company, peaceful music, and the spirit of this season of miracles.
