The Weimar Wildcats football season has come to an end but earned some post season awards to conclude their season.
Being named to the Academic All-State team is an honor because it shows that the coaches association noticed that players are producing on and off the field.
So not only do you have to be a productive player on the field, but players have to produce a 3.5 GPA or better to be considered for selection. Three Wildcats earned this honor this year being Logan Kainer, Camden Morrison and Huxton Kloesel.
Kloesel needs no introduction, but he deserves one, Kloesel wore multiple hats for the Wildcats this season. He was the quarterback, punter, punt returner, defensive back and sometimes running back.
He is value to the Wildcats this season is indescribable. He was asked to do so many things, and he excelled at all of them and helped lead this team on a deep playoff run.
Morrison was so fun to watch this season he was always flying across the field. Like Kloesel he had a few different roles, but he played them all well, he played the game at a high speed and punished the opposition for running in his direction with massive hits.
Kainer was an anchor on the defensive line for the Wildcats, he was a big part of that formidable Wildcat run defense. He used his big frame to stuff the run and like his two teammates he was a big part of the Wildcats playoff run this season.
These three did all of those things on the football field but they also managed to maintain a 3.5 GPA or higher while doing it.
These three earned their spots ont he Academic All-State team and deserve all the congratulations for it.
