The start of the Weimar Wildcats 2024 basketball season is just around the corner, which means it is time to give their fans an idea of what to expect for the upcoming season.
After a less than desirable finish to last season the Wildcats are looking to take a step forward and get back in the playoff hunt in 2024.
The Wildcats finished last season with a 10-16 overall record and a 3-9 record in district according to MaxPreps. Their district record landed them in sixth place, one slot above last place Louise.
Last season the Wildcats struggled on both ends of the floor making it difficult to stack up wins, especially late in the year during their district schedule. Even though the team struggled to stack wins up they did an excellent job of developing the talent they had on the roster.
Each player last season elevated their game each and every time they touched the floor last season. While graduation can be a killer for many teams especially after a tough season it that is not the case for the Wildcats.
Fans of the Wildcats basketball team can breathe a sigh of relief because the Wildcats have a total of six returners. That is significant because they were a part of those struggles and are eager to get back on the court and show people that this team will be different.
Zach Norrell, Camden Morrison, Colin Morrison, Sammy Hernandez, Jerron Fisher and Huxton Kloesel are the names that are returning for the Wildcats. That’s huge for the roster because more than half the roster is familiar with each other and have some sort of chemistry with one another.

Knowing that fans can expect this group to move the ball around effectively because these guys know where they need to be and more importantly, they know where each other is going to be without even looking. The same goes for defense, this team is going to be more aggressive on defense because most of these guys are entering their senior year, and they want to make the playoffs and leave the basketball team on a high note.
They know what is expected of them if they want to achieve the goals, they have set for themselves this season and their journey to prove that they belong starts on, December 10, against Fayettville.
