The Columbus ISD Board of Trustees approved the recommendation to hire Jennifer Demers as an administrator at their recent school board meeting last Monday, Nov. 11.
The decision was made after board members went into closed session, coming to a consensus to bring Demers on board within less than an hour.
An invocation was made at the beginning of the meeting by Columbus High School Senior and the 2024 Colorado County Fair and Rodeo Pageant Queen Brooklyn Eden.
The cash receipts for the month were $1,994,327, with cash disbursements sitting at $1,837,929. The cash position as of Oct. 31 was $13,740,205.31.
A bond construction update was also given by PBK and Drymalla Construction following their previous meeting with the Columbus ISD board on Sept. 30.
Board members also approved expenditures on Special Education for $51,185.34 and $32,958.57, Maintenance for $40,716.41, $34,737, $38,912.81 and $38,400.
Budget amendments were also approved for the 2024-2025 school year as well as the Educator Early Resignation Notification Incentives for contracted staff.
