The Weimar Wildcats are officially the Bi-District Champions after they defeated Santa Maria on Friday night in Odem, TX.
The drive from Weimar High School to Odem High School is 147 miles, approximately two-anda- half-hour drive but it was so much easier for the Wildcats to drive after picking up a win.
The Wildcats came out the gate hot against Santa Maria on Friday night and set their rushing attack up early. The Wildcats have one of the strongest group of running backs in the district and they used them perfectly on Friday night.
Making the most of his opportunities was Zack Norrell who carried the ball only three times Friday night. During those three carries, Norrell racked up 107 yards which is an average of 36 yards a carry.
That’s a night to remember for sure and it was made even sweeter for Norrell when he was able to score a touchdown after all that production.
Jerron Fisher has been a major factor in the Wildcats rushing attack, he is the team leader with 1,216 rushing yards before Friday. Fisher was given only five carries Friday night but with those five carries he showed why he is the team’s leading rusher.

Fisher recorded 140 yards on the ground giving him an average of 28 yards per carry and on top of that he scored three touchdowns. With Norrell and Fisher having monster nights there is still two more rushers that got in on the action against Santa Maria.
Dereon Fisher had the most carries out of any of the running backs Friday night with nine carries. He racked up 69 yards and scored once while Huxton Kloesel carried the ball twice for 15 yards and two touchdowns.
While the rushing attack was as potent as always the Wildcats decided to test out a few of their passing plays. Kloesel dropped back three times and completed all three of his passes for 131 yards and a touchdown.
The recipient of that touchdown was none other than Norrell who scored a 57-yard touchdown, which added to the elite night that he had.
The Wildcats will be back in action on Friday, Nov. 22, when they take on Mason in Georgetown with the Area Championship on the line.
