The Weimar Ladycats punched their ticket to the State Championship meet after a strong showing at the Regional meet and they delivered another solid performance at the State meet.
The Ladycats traveled to Round Rock to take part in the State Championship meet and had one runner finish int he top 50, two finish in the top 100 and four runners finish in the top 120 out of 151 runners.
Aubrey Breska was the first Ladycat across the finish line to come in 50th place and round off the top 50. Breska recorded a time of 13 minutes and seven seconds and 25 seconds later one of her teammates joined her.
MJ Griffin came in 83rd place with a time of 13 minutes and 32 seconds to give the Ladycats a second runner to finish in the top 100 runners. Katharina Chaloupka recorded a time of 13 minutes and 56 seconds to come in 102nd place just seven seconds shy of finishing in the top 100.
These three ran well but once they finished, they were even better teammates rooting for the remaining Ladycats in the race.
Tate Griffin and Alazay Moreno were two of the Ladycats remaining in the race and they fed off their teammates’ positivity to help get them across the finish line. Griffin was the first of the two across the finish line with a time of 14 minutes and 10 seconds to come in 115th place.
Moreno was only 11 seconds behind Griffin and came in 120th place with a recorded time of 14 minutes and 21 seconds. Olivia Noska and Faith Cantwell were the final duo of Ladycats across the finish line coming in 125th and 145th place respectively.
Noska recorded a time of 14 minutes and 26 seconds while Cantwell came in with a time of 15 minutes and 14 seconds.
The Ladycats had a great season this year on the track and were able to accomplish a lot of goals they set for themselves at the start of the year all to finish by running in the State Championship.
