Wildcats run free against Flatonia

WEIMAR WILDCATS 49, FLATONIA BULLDOGS 10

The Weimar Wildcats improved to 4-1 in their district schedule after they defeated Flatonia 49-10 on Friday, Nov. 1.

The Wildcats rushing attack again shined brightly on Friday night, they racked up a total 514 yards and six touchdowns.

Jerron Fisher was the leading rusher in the game for the Wildcats, he carried the ball 11 times for 232 yards and scored two touchdowns in the process. Fisher has been the heart of the Wildcats rushing attack and Friday was no different with his ability to break big runs on full display.

Derreon Johnson also contributed a triple digit night on the ground for the Wildcats, he has come along nicely as a runner and does not shy away from contact to pick up extra yards. Johnson carried the ball 12 times for 129 yards and one touchdown.

The Wildcats also used Zack Norrell effectively in the back field, he carried the ball six times for 81 yards and one touchdown. Then finally Huxton Kloesel had enough of handing the ball off and got in on the action himself.

Kloesel carried the ball three times for 25 yards and one touchdown on Friday night as the Wildcats collected their fourth district win of the year.

Defensively the Wildcats held Flatonia to only 10 points in the game. They clogged up the ground game and did not allow many plays through the air.

Their defensive line has been getting better and better each week through this district schedule. They are a big reason why the Wildcats are sitting with a 4-1 record and are second in the district standings.

The Wildcats will be looking for their 5th district win of the season on Friday, Nov. 8, when they travel to Kenedy with kickoff set for 7:30 p.m.
