Rice CISD hosts ‘Trick or Treat around the Track’

Rice Consolidated Independent School District hosted their “Trick or Treat around the Track” event for Colorado County kids celebrating Halloween with candy given away by people all across the county this past Monday, Oct. 28.

The super sweet event featured local businesses and organizations throughout the community that set up booths to give candy to the costumed kids, jumping in on the spooktacular fun.

Kids of all ages got the opportunity to fill up their buckets by walking around the track and hitting each booth up, getting pieces of candy from each stall, such as the Colorado County Citizen.

The first 50 students in line received a ticket to get a treat bag filled with goodies given out by Joe Romo, a Rice High School Board member.

The students that followed received a bag given out by Judy Taylor of the Rock Island Volunteer Fire Department and bingo.

There will be another Trick or Treat around the Track at Weimar High School Wednesday, Oct. 30.

Brinlee Kazmir, dressed up as the doll “Jessie” from Toy Story gets her fill of candy at a booth.

Rice High School cheerleaders and football players were giving out candy to the crowds Oct. 28.

Other kids in costumes got pieces of candy from another booth.
