Record breaking early voting numbers

Records have been broken during this election’s early voting cycle across Texas and in Colorado County, with the number of early voters higher than certain days amongst the previous election cycle in 2020.

The voter turnout for the first day of early voting and returned ballot by mail for the 2020 general election was 1,123 compared to 2024’s first day numbers of 1,137, whilst 2024’s third day early voting numbers sat at 2,988 compared to 2020’s third day early voting numbers which paled in comparison at 2,054.

Here are the early voting numbers day by day since the first day. Early voting runs through Friday, Nov. 01, from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Early Voting Turnout as of Oct. 28

• Eligible Voters: 14,819

• Total In-Person Voters: 4,973 (34%)* Breakdown by location:

• Columbus Main: 3,215

• Eagle Lake Branch: 646

• Weimar Branch: 1,181 *Accumulative

• Ballots Mailed out: 410

• Returned Ballots Voted: 298

Early Voting Turnout as of Oct. 25

• Eligible Voters: 14,817

• Total In-Person Voters: 4,513 (30%)* Breakdown by location:

• Columbus Main: 2,995

• Eagle Lake Branch: 557

• Weimar Branch: 1,001 *Accumulative

• Ballots Mailed out: 396

• Returned Ballots Voted: 263

Early Voting Turnout as of Oct. 24

• Eligible Voters: 14,817

• Total In-Person Voters: 3,733 (25%)* Breakdown by location:
