The Weimar Ladycats took on district opponents Schulenburg and Flatonia this week where they lost and won those games respectively.

The Ladycats played hard all week and even though they lost to Schulenburg they took them the distance.

@ Schulenburg, 3-2, L (21-25, 25-14, 23-25, 25-15, 10-15) The Ladycats started their week on the road against Schulenburg and this game felt like a playoff game.

The Ladycat faithful made the trip down to Schulenburg and with a packed house the ladies on the court delivered an instant classic. The Ladycats lost the first set by only four points even with the crowd on top of them after every point Schulenburg scored the Ladycats battled until the very end.

In the second set the Ladycats came out strong on both offense and defense to catch Schulenburg asleep to even up the match. The third set saw Schulenburg bounce back with another win but again the Ladycats kept things close, only losing by two points.

The fourth set mirrored the second set with the Ladycats playing that aggressive style of play and controlling the pace of play at the net. This brought the match to the fifth set where it is a race to 15 points.

The Ladycats fought hard but ultimately came up just shot and lost the match three sets to two. The Ladycats did not dwell on the loss for too long and shifted their focus to their game against Flatonia.

@ Flatonia, 3-0, W (25-13, 25-16, 25-12) Looking to bounce back from their loss to Schulenburg the Ladycats traveled to Flatonia ready to make a statement.

The Ladycats came out swinging in the first set while their defense stood tall on their way to a 2513 win in the first set. The second set was more of the same, Flatonia gave a little bit of pushback, but the Ladycats were still so dominant.

In the third set the Ladycats wasted no time picking up the win, holding Flatonia to only 12 points and finishing the game in three straight sets.

The Ladycats are firmly in a playoff spot and will be ready to go whenever their next game comes.
