Annual CDA Hunter’s bake sale set for Oct. 31 The annual CDA Hunter’s bake sale will be held next Thursday, Oct. 31 at the Walmart on 2103 Milam St., located in Columbus.

The bake sale will be starting early in the morning at 8:00 a.m. and will last until all goods are sold out.

Tons of homemade goodies will be on sale for patrons to purchase, courtesy of Catholic Daughter Court Mary Queen of Snows 1,558.

Tractor Supply to host Halloween pet photos Tractor Supply Company is inviting customers to celebrate the Halloween season with a pet photo event at its Columbus store. On Saturday, Oct. 26, from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.

Customers can bring in their four-legged family members, with or without costumes, to have their photos taken by a local photographer. The first 25 participants will also receive a free magnetic picture frame.

“At Tractor Supply, we understand that pets are a part of the family. That’s why we’re excited to host an event that will create Halloween memories for pet owners and animals alike,” said Brittany Sanders, manager of the Columbus Tractor Supply store. “Our customers love their furry best friends, and we want to make sure this Halloween is one they won’t forget.”

In addition to the pet photos, customers will also have the opportunity to enjoy a dog wash, pet adoption and a pet costume contest.

Columbus Chamber of Commerce announces Halloween decorating contest The Columbus Chamber of Commerce has announced their upcoming Halloween Decorating Contest, inviting residents to transform their homes into spooktacular displays of creativity.

Participants will have a chance to win cash prizes for the most creative and spirited Halloween decorations. The deadline to enter the contest is this Friday Oct. 25.

This free and festive event is open to residential entries within the Columbus city limits.

Judging will take place next Wednesday, Oct. 30 at 6:30 p.m., with a panel of local judges touring the community to select winners.

Those interested in entering the contest can sign up by calling the Columbus Chamber of Commerce at 979-7328385 or by emailing info@ columbustexas. org. All contestants must reside within the Columbus city limits to be eligible.
