The Columbus Lady Cardinals improved to 11-0 in district play after they defeated Tidehaven and Yoakum in back-to-back games.

The Lady Cards are showing no mercy on their run to the playoffs and Tidehaven felt that in full force.

@ Tidehaven, 3-0, W (25-8, 25-10, 25-15)

To start their week the Lady Cards went on the road to Tidehaven looking for a 10th district win in as many games.

They know this team very well as they have become very familiar through their district matchups throughout the years. The Lady Cards jumped all over them in the first set allowing only eight points on defense while the offense dominated the net.

Six players for the Lady Cards recorded a kill in this game that consisted of Taylor Morrow, Caylie Neisner, Harper Gerik, Riley Kainer, Madison Glueck and Gracie Schobel.

Abigail Fisher led the way with 12 assists and Neisner led the team with seven digs. With one win under their belt they returned to Columbus ready to take on Yoakum in game number two.

Vs. Yoakum, 3-0, W (25-18, 25-22, 26-24)

Game two of the week proved to be a little more challenging than game number one but the Lady Cards know how to handle their business when the time comes.

Close sets and loud atmospheres do not phase them, they are battle tested and have all the talent to get the job done so they just went to work. Schobel and Gerik were the main features on offense with Morrow being absent for this game.

The duo of Lady Cards each recorded 11 kills each and were huge factors in the third set where they needed 26 points instead of the typical 25. Fisher and Kainer led the set up most of those kills as they recorded 14 and 13 assists in their match against Yoakum.

The Lady Cards are flying high right now and look to keep things going against Hallettsville with their match scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 22, at 5 p.m.

Caylie Neisner is more known for digs but against TIdehaven she recorded a kill.
