The Rice Lady Raiders losing streak grew to nine games this week after losing their games to Hallettsville and Industrial.

The Lady Raiders have only one district win this season and are still searching for their second one, but they know it is going to have to be a team effort.

@ Hallettsville, 3-0, L (25 20, 28-26, 25-22) The first game of the week for the Lady Raiders was not too bad and they were in every set they played.

It was not so out of their reach that they could not snatch victory from Hallettsville. A couple favorable bounces and the Lady Raiders are potentially winning this game.

It stings but the encouraging part of this match is the Lady Raiders seemingly found their mojo again. With the scores being so close it was nice to see the Lady Raiders play with a little bit of swagger and come with some energy and excitement to the game.

They were making plays and worrying about only what they could control in the game and did an excellent job of executing their systems. Even though they lost this match was huge for the Lady Raiders and gave them a sense of belief that they can compete in this district.

@ Industrial, 3-0, L (25 16, 25-9, 25-19) Coming off a great match against Hallettsville where the Lady Raiders looked stellar even though they lost.

They came into the game against Industrial and reverted to how they were playing during this nine-game skid. The confidence and belief slowly dwindled as the match went a long with the lowest point coming in the second set.

The Lady Raiders scored only nine points in the second set, just complete and udder defeat for a team that really needs a win.

The Lady Raiders will have an opportunity to get that win on Tuesday, Oct. 22, when they welcome in Tidehaven.
