Trust gets anonymous $200K pledge

‘SAVE OUR OPERA HOUSE’

The Columbus Historical Preserve and Trust is thrilled to have an anonymous donor come forward with a $200,000 matching pledge.

With work well underway and donations to date totaling $700,000, the elevator is approaching completion and other projects are starting.

New areas needing repairs surfaced as the elevator and other projects were being addressed. If matched, the total amount raised to date would be $1.1 million, allowing the CHPT to cover 80% of all the projects and 100% of the most urgent needs.

The Fall “Have Yourself a Tasty Little Holiday” auction will take place in November and proceeds from that along with all proceeds from the sale of the newly released “Seasons of Colorado County” book being matched, which is now available for purchase at the Columbus Chamber of Commerce.

Anyone may contribute to the campaign. The matching donations will be available to the CHPT as the money is received, allowing the CHPT to start projects sooner.

In the coming weeks more will be shared about the progress on all the projects and updates on the campaign matches.
