SCHULENBURG & WEIMAR — The Stanzel Family Foundation continues its commitment to fostering an educated community by providing support to the Alliance for College & Career Student Success (ACCSS). The grant will specifically aid the organization’s ACCSS 2.0 Special Projects, a bold initiative to pivot towards holistic post-secondary and career planning and success for all students.
ACCSS is a partnership between six rural public independent school districts (Columbus, Fayetteville, Schulenburg, Flatonia, Weimar, and Moulton) and Blinn College District working together to share resources and to provide more dual credit opportunities and career pathways for students in their region. By establishing this innovative collaborative, students— especially those from low-income families—are provided post-secondary support that delivers the necessary preparation, access, persistence, and success to enable them to enter the workforce equipped for the future.
“While the efforts of ACCSS in program development, recruitment, and student support had borne fruit, there was a larger need to address.” said Susie Shank, Director of ACCSS. “It was not just about guiding a select few through the dual credit journey anymore. It was about ensuring that every student had a roadmap for their future beyond high school. That is where ACCSS 2.0 was born.”
“The Blinn College Foundation is proud to support the Alliance for College & Career Success in South Central Texas (ACCSS) in hopes of driving positive change for our youth, schools, and our communities in rural Texas,” said Susan Myers, Executive Director of Blinn College Foundation. “Even as we experience transition in leadership at our partner ISD’s, ACCSS is the constant that will continue to support students as they persist to graduation and post-secondary success.”
The mission of Alliance for College and Career Student Success in South Central Texas (ACCSS) is to collaborate as a partnership with rural public-school districts and an institution of higher education to provide academic and career resources, guidance, and support necessary for students to complete a post-secondary or workforce career credential.
The Stanzel Family Foundation envisions an educated community of lifelong learners, where every member actively pursues knowledge with enthusiasm and initiative. The Foundation is especially committed to empowering young individuals by providing them with comprehensive exposure to career and college opportunities.
