SAS SAINTLY NEWS

SAS 8th graders held their final Class Mass last Thursday, Oct. 3, with family members joining them for worship and lunch. Yesterday, the 3rd grade visited the Colorado County Fairgrounds for Ag in the Classroom hosted by the Columbus FFA.

Last Friday, Father James Dvorak celebrated the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi by blessing animals brought to the SAS playground. In blessing the animals, we recognize the value of all creatures made by God and how their relationship with humans adds value to their lives and ours. SAS families brought pets of all shapes and sizes for this special dedication to those beloved critters that are part of our families!

Today, the 4K, Kindergarten and 1st graders will be visiting the Columbus Fire Station for some lessons and presentations in Fire Safety. The truck ride back to school is always the highlight of the visit. Tomorrow, the 3K will also get to take a tour of a fire truck at SAS.

SAS Junior High Saint volunteers will be working at the St. Anthony Fall Festival this coming Sunday, Oct. 13. Join us at the Columbus Hall for a day of yummy food, games, auctions and fellowship!

This Saturday, Oct. 12, the cross-country team will participate in a meet at Faith Academy in Bellville. On Monday, Oct. 14, Lady Saints volleyball will host St. Ludmila in matches starting at 5pm.

Upcoming events

St. Anthony Church Picnic on Oct. 13, Picture Retakes on Oct. 14, SAS Halloween Carnival on Oct. 26. SAS welcomes all to attend Children’s Mass on Fridays at 8:15 a.m.
