Columbus’ results from Shiner meet

The Columbus Cardinals cross country team traveled to Shiner to participate in the meet that they were hosting.

The Lady Cards had a strong showing at the meet as they finished in fifth place as a team and had one runner earn a medal.

Kaylea Foster was the lone Lady Card to earn a medal in Shiner, but her teammates performed well, and they earned fifth place as a team. Foster was the first Lady Card who finished the race in Shiner with a time of 13 minutes and 26 seconds to come in 13th place.

Next runner across the finish line was Chloe Ross with a time of 13 minutes and 35 seconds to come in 16th place. She was followed by Madison McRee with a time of 14 minutes and eight seconds to come in 24th place.

Lexi Kulhanek and Elana Rios were the next pair of Lady Cards across the finish line with times of 14 minutes and 55 seconds and 17 minutes flat respectively. They were awarded 35th and 56th place for their efforts.

Mylee Moffett ran in the junior varsity race for the Lady Cards and with a time of 21 minutes and 54 seconds she came in 21st place in the JV race.

As for the boys the Cards only had three runners in the boys’ race consisting of Keegan Escamilla, Zeyon Ramirez and Christian Martinez. Escamilla was the first Cardinal to finish the race with a time of 19 minutes and 59 seconds to come in 27th place.

Ramirez and Martinez finished the race with times of 20 minutes and 10 seconds and 20 minutes and 47 seconds respectively to come in 32nd and 40th place.

Columbus will continue to work hard in practice to shave their times down as they begin preparations for their next meet.
