No spills at Houndertoberfest

Hound Song Brewing Company’s “Houndertoberfest” Oktoberfest spinoff event made a big splash this past Saturday, Sept. 28.

The event saw lots of beer fly off the shelves, with the brewery hosting its first sanctioned U.S. Stein Holding Association competition, judged by Paula Swindle, a certified association judge.

Will Schneider, clinching his third consecutive victory in the annual competition, was the winner of the men’s portion with a time of 4 minutes and 23 seconds. The women’s winner was Casey Fedako, with a time of 2 minutes and 51 seconds.

Fedako and Schneider will both get the opportunity to compete at the state competition at “Wurstfest” in New Braunfels.

Ryan Schobel and Jessia Ross were named Mr. and Mrs. Houndtoberfest. The Ennis Czech Boys livened the crowd with a mix of polka, waltz and classic country music.

Will Schneider won the men’s stein holding competition for a 3rd consecutive year (pictured). Casey Fedako was the women’s winner.
