Raise your steins and test your strength at Hound Song Brewing Co.’s Stein Hoisting Contest during this year’s Houndtoberfest on Saturday, Sept. 28.
As a brand new official member of the U.S. Stein Hoisting Association, Hound Song Brewing Co. is excited to announce that this year’s contest is a sanctioned qualifier, offering the male and female winners a chance to advance to the state championships at Wurstfest in New Braunfels on Nov. 10.
What is at stake
Competitors will battle it out to see who can hold a full one-liter stein of beer with an outstretched arm for the longest time. This classic Oktoberfest challenge is not just a test of strength and endurance — it is an opportunity to secure a spot on the grand stage at Wurstfest, one of Texas’s most celebrated festivals. The top male and female contestants from Hound Song’s competition will earn the honor of representing Columbus at the state championships, where they will compete against the best from across Texas.

How to enter
Participants can sign up on the day of the event, with registration opening at noon. The contest will take place during Houndtoberfest’s all-day celebration, which features live music, delicious food, and, of course, plenty of craft beer.
