The Columbus Independent School District Board of Trustees accepted a $25,000 monetary donation made to the Columbus ISD Athletic Department.
Columbus native and businessman John H. Massey, whom the school district’s field at Memorial Stadium is named after, made the donation.
The Board also reviewed the unaudited reports of the 20232024 fiscal year as of August 31. The cash receipts were $1,857,721, and the cash disbursements were $4,459,527.
The cash position as of August 31 was $10,071,774. Dr. Miller Beaird presented the district’s annual accountability report.
Expenditures with aggregates in excess of $50,000 were also approved.
$51,185.34 was spent on Special Education Residential Placement.
Maintenance Utility-Electricity $34,248.49.
Maintenance Custodial Service $34,737.00.
Maintenance-HVAC Repair $39,948.54.
The Board also approved a resolution affirming the investment policy and designating investment officers Jim Connor, Superintendent, and Scott Leopold, Chief Financial Officer.
The Gulf Coast Area prevailing wage rates in connection with the CTE building and CES 5th grade wing expansion construction projects authorized by the Board during the 20232024 school year were also approved as well.
