WEIMAR CROSS COUNTRY RESULTS

The Weimar Wildcats participated in the Ell Campo Cross Country meet and had five runners leave with a medal and won the team championship.

The meet gave the Wildcats a lot of momentum to start the season and will look to improve on this strong showing throughout the season.

Alexa Moreno and Faith Cantwell took home silver and bronze respectively by finishing in 2nd and 3rd place with times of 12 minutes and 37 seconds and 12 minutes and 41 seconds. MJ Griffin took home a 5th place medal with a time of 12 minutes and 44 seconds.

Aubrey Breska and Olivia Noska came in 7th and 9th place with times of 13 minutes and 12 seconds and 13 minutes and 14 seconds. All five of these runners finished in the top 10 which helped the Wildcats surge in the standings to claim the championship.

Alazay Moreno and Katharina Chaloupka came in 15th and 18th place with times of 13 minutes and 45 seconds and 14 minutes and 21 seconds. The girls won the meet with 26 points and with five medals on top of that the Ladycats were riding high.

As for the boys Troy Cantwell and Cadyn Booker finished their threemile run in 23 minutes and 26 seconds and 24 minutes and 11 seconds. This earned them 41st and 43rd place to conclude the Wildcats participation in the El Campo meet.

The Wildcats have plenty more opportunity to improve this cross country season and will have an opportunity this Friday, Aug. 30, when they compete in the Lockhart Hippensteel Open.
