Eagle Lake Noon Lions Club host guest speaker Dumont

Last Thursday, Aug. 22, Eagle Lake Noon Lions Club welcomed guest speaker Brad Dumont, Head Football Coach and Athletic Director for Rice Consolidated High School.

After a delicious lunch, Coach Dumont impressed the Lions with the fantastic Athletic Program offered for both the boys and girls at Rice High School. Team spirit is high, since the students have already been practicing and are getting ready for competition in a variety of sports to be played throughout the seasons of the school year.

Football, volleyball, track & field, cross-country, basketball, softball and baseball were mentioned. The football team has worked out all summer at various camps around the state.

All athletes, both boys and girls, will have opportunities to train in the weight room with their strength-training coach.

The Cross-Country teams get up early to begin their practices at 6:00 a.m., before the sun rises and it gets too hot. This year’s varsity footbal l team are veteran players and are looking forward to a great season.

Equally, the varsity volleyball team is working hard and expecting big things! Coach Dumont expressed gratitude for a talented and diligent staff of coaches who work from sun-up to sun-down every day, and longer on game days, to teach and mentor the athletes.

Dumont is looking forward to a winning season for all our teams and is thankful for all the family’s support and enthusiasm. Coach Dumont closed with this invitation: “There’s a lot going on at Rice High School. Y’all come on out to all the events! You’ll be glad you did.”
