Connections to the County: Ally Tribe

Columbus Lady Cardinals alumni Ally Tribe got her first taste of Division 1 volleyball on Saturday, Aug. 17, against the defending National Champions Texas Longhorns while playing for the Univeristy of Texas at San Antonio.

The game was merely an exhibition but what better way to get introduced to D-1 College Volleyball than by playing the National Champs.

Tribe is the all-time kill leader at Columbus High School before she left Columbus early last year to get a head start on her training at UTSA. Texas presented a great early challenge for UTSA and while the game did not count towards their record they learned a lot from the National Champs.

UTSA is scheduled to open their season on the road on Friday, Aug. 30, against William and Mary University where they look to add a tick to the win column to start their season.
